How women give — Key trends gift officers need to know in 2021

Women play an integral role in philanthropy — they’re more likely to give than men, and to give more in both dollars and in volunteering time. And as they’ve risen in the workforce, they now control a third of total US household financial assets, worth more than $10 trillion. They are a major driver in giving decisions, often outlive their male partners, and wield a huge amount of influence at nonprofits.

While much of giving for men and women looks similar, there are key differences that planned and major giving officers can tap into to fundraise more successfully from this population.

Watch Patrick Schmitt, the Co-CEO of FreeWill, to get insights on the macrotrends shaping how women give, and specific tactics you can use to generate more planned and major gifts.
