Curious what’s next on the horizon at FreeWill? Our team is hard at work researching and developing new products and features for our partners.

We want to highlight a few upcoming projects for you here, so that you can stay in-the-know! None of these updates require any immediate action from you, and all are designed to make our tools and your experience better. Once each of these projects are ready to roll out, you'll receive plenty of notice in your inbox.

Here are 3 big things that we’re working on:

Gift Validation

As more and more donors are using FreeWill to record their bequest intentions, we want to make sure that there’s no doubt that the gift commitment information we pass on to your team is valid.

To help improve our current process, we’re developing some exciting new validation features to give better context around each gift, and guide how your organization documents and responds to it. These include an algorithm to weight a user’s behavior and assets, based on:

Time spent creating their documents
Tendency to share documents with executors
Reporting witnessing of their will

With this update, we’ll be able to report each bequest with a ‘score’ — and enable your team to follow up accordingly based on that score!

PARTNER PORTAL IMPROVEMENTS

We’ve got some big news: we’re working on a new Partner Portal!

We’ll soon be updating the Portal to have features like in-app notifications, easier onboarding checklists, and to-dos for our new partners.

While the final version will not be released until next year, we’ve decided to roll out some of the most exciting features early — and will keep you updated with any changes as they launch!

FREEWILL IN CANADA

Many of our partners have significant donor populations in Canada, and want to run consistent programs in both countries. We hear you, and our team has been hard at work researching the expansion of our bequest tool into Canada.

Set to launch in 2022, we’ll be releasing this product in English-speaking provinces to start, with continued research on how to best navigate the complexities of French-speaking provinces.
