Donor Advised Funds, or DAFs, allow donors to put a large sum of money into a charitable investment account (getting an immediate tax deduction) and pay out donations to nonprofits over time. While other fundraising vehicles, such as Qualified Charitable Distributions, may be affected by the recent passage of the CARES Act, DAFs have not changed. This money has already been set aside for nonprofits and can continue to have a significant impact on fundraising efforts.
