Effectively partnering with donors & their financial advisors
Financial advisors help clients with a wide range of services – including financial planning, investment management, tax advice, budgeting, and even insurance strategies – with the goal of maximizing the client's retirement nest egg and their philanthropic impact. Around 30% of consumers work with a paid financial advisor — and 95% of those individuals believe it’s worth the money.
If your donor works with a professional advisor, it's helpful for you to understand the role of an advisor, and to get your nonprofit on the advisor's radar to ensure philanthropy is included in the conversation.
In this session, FreeWill and representatives from Mercer Advisors share tips on connecting and partnering with your donors' financial advisors to maximize your donors' philanthropy — now and in their retirement.
We covered:
- What a financial advisor is and what they do for their clients
- What type of people work with financial advisors, and how philanthropy can become part of that conversation
- Tips to help nonprofits effectively partner with financial advisors
- How FreeWill's smart giving products support this work
